The statement I disagree with the most is that a person or thing must have a name in order to truly exist because the ability to name something does not influence the existence of that thing. For example, if there was a child born that was given no name the child would still exist. The only problem with not having a name is that people don’t know what to call you. The fact that the child did not have a name doesn’t mean that it never existed. Another example for why a name has no influence on the existence of an object or person is that there are many numbers that have no name, but they theoretically exist. The number naming system only goes so far, and eventually there is a number that we have no name for. The fact that we have no name for the number doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. By looking at theoretical people and numbers, we can see that names have no influence on the existence of a person or object.
